BOA VISTA:
School + Water
for the community
Driving the development of a school and access to clean drinking water in Boa Vista, Mozambique.
Meet Fabiana Llamas
Fabiana Llamas is an Argentine who has been providing humanitarian aid in Africa for 17 years. She currently lives in Chimoio and works in the rural area of Boa Vista, Mozambique, 40 kilometers from the city.
Her vocation has led her to work directly with children and adults through a literacy center that has had a significant impact on several villages.
With a clear vision of holistic transformation, Fabiana promotes basic education, support for women, and community development, firmly believing that access to learning and clean water are key to breaking cycles of poverty.
Her work goes beyond teaching reading and writing — it restores dignity, hope, and purpose.
This project is urgent.
The “Boa Semente” Literacy Center, under Fabiana’s leadership, is facing a critical challenge: lack of access to clean water. The community — made up of children, women, and adults — relies on unsafe water sources, which negatively impacts their health, education, and daily life due to the long distances they must travel to obtain this essential resource.
To address this problem, the project proposes drilling a borehole to a depth of 150 meters, where water is known to be available, and installing a solar-powered submersible pump. This will provide free and safe access to this vital resource for the community and for participants at the literacy center, significantly improving their living and learning conditions.
- There is no public transportation — access is only possible by vehicle (40 km from the urban center).
- Classes are currently held in a basic structure (without finished flooring).
- There is no water: previous drilling attempts were unsuccessful; water has been detected at a depth of 130–150 meters.
- The school serves both children and adults.

What we will do!
Water
We will drill a deep well and install a solar-powered pumping system, along with a tower and storage tank. This system will provide clean drinking water to the school and the entire community, improving health, hygiene, and the quality of life for hundreds of people.
Access to water will serve as the foundation for a more dignified future.

Education
We are strengthening an existing educational center that already offers a kindergarten and literacy programs, and we will continue with the construction of classrooms for children and adults. Our goal is to provide safe and suitable spaces where they can learn, grow, and reach their full potential.
Education opens doors. Water makes it possible.
